It's his first day as the current heir of the house, and Percival decides he will be invisible.
And eat his bread and jam under the chair.
"Hello, Dad."
Eventually, Darla-Juliana coaxes him back to visibility with the chess match. They discuss babies between moves.
"So, you really don't like kids?" she asks him.
"Nope," says Percival. "But we've still gotta have them."
"How many?" she asks.
Percival sighs. "However many it takes."

Darla-Juliana frowns and hopes it takes a lot. She likes kids.
"Checkmate."
"Checkmate."
Percival's room has been converted back into a nursery, and Parsons' bedroom has become his and Darla-Juliana's. Toadie and Loppy are still residing in their original room, happy to live out their days with Percival and his family.
Darla-Juliana dreams of begging Percival for at least five children.
The next day, Percival turns to Darla-Juliana during their afternoon soap and says, "If it will make you happy, I hope we have a lot of kids."
This makes Darla-Juliana a happy girl, indeed.
"It's sort of my lifetime wish," she admits.

Tired of a glitched shrubbery preventing her from entering the science building every day, Toadie retires and changes her lifetime wish to becoming a renaissance sim. With both the gardening and logic skills mastered, all that's left is cooking. So, she spends most of her days studying the most advanced cookbook money can buy.
Loppy has reached elder status, and is more afraid than ever. What if he dies somewhere nobody can find him, he wonders? What if he's left to rot and flies devour his body? What if he's never buried? Where will his ghost go???
In the background, Darla-Juliana discovers that she's pregnant. Hooray!

She breaks the news to Percival that night. He tries to act enthusiastic for her, and she appreciates that.
He may not adore children, but Percival does adore his wife, and does his best to be supportive through the pregnancy.
At breakfast, Loppy and Darla-Juliana discuss children, and how wonderful they are, and Percival pulls his mother's classic grumpy face.
Darla-Juliana decides to get a job. The military seems as good as any other field, she reasons.
Toadie tries to remember whether or not she's already fertilized the garden.
She still likes to wear her old lab coat sometimes, even though she's retired. It's comfortable.

She tries to give Darla-Juliana advice on mothering.
"Just stay as far away from them as possible," Toadie tells her. "And you'll do just fine."

Darla-Juliana feels the baby kicking and smiles fondly.
...Okay, that wasn't a kick.
The men of the household gather around to panic as hard as they can.
The support from Toadie is underwhelming.
One taxi ride and a couple hours later, Darla-Juliana returns home with Saroyan, her and Percival's first son!
He's insane, too. Surprise, surprise.
